Sprout Social was pitching their social media platform to Nike. I was tasked with the assignment when they needed a video to anchor that pitch. No brief, no creative direction, no starting point beyond the client name and a deadline.
The script had to do two things simultaneously. The first was resisting the obvious — the highlights, the championships, the typical sports fanfare. The emotional truth I was after was quieter than that, sitting with the people in the stands rather than the athletes on the field. The second was reframing that same emotional world through Sprout's lens, making the case for why social intelligence is the thing that protects what Nike has built.
Not just the moment, but the meaning it sets in motion.
