I had the great honor of spending the last year in Singapore creating video content for Riot Games (League of Legends). The goal was to use documentaries to shine a light on various players and offer glimpses into their lives in and outside of the game. Riot has so many amazing people on their team and collaborating with them was incredible.
I've been a big gamer most of my life so I jumped at the chance to work on something that blends filmmaking with gaming while keeping storytelling as the emphasis. It helped me appreciate people much more by diving into what makes them tick. We all have a reason for doing what we're doing and that often doesn't get understood. It's easy to write off a gamer as a nerd, anti-social, introvert, etc. They are some of the best people I've ever gotten to meet in my life.. I'd like to think I came out a better person after this.
